Membership Committee

The committee objective focuses on increasing the number of talented and qualified members. Requirements for general membership include paid members with a bachelor degree, or its international equivalent in accounting or finance-related majors or with an equivalent professional certification in accounting or finance-related profession and are supportive of the Association's mission. All other non-business professionals are eligible of Associate status membership.

The Membership Committee is responsible for:

  • Helping to increase membership by organizing membership drives.
  • Updating and maintaining the Chapter database.
  • Sending out all correspondence to the membership and maintaining RSVP lists.
  • Serving as greeters at each ALPFA event (this depends on availability).
  • Assisting with preparing membership package for all new members.
  • Working closely with the events committee.
  • Reaching out to expired members via email or phone call.

Communications Committee

The committee objective focuses on issuing a quarterly newsletter regarding local events, chapter partnerships, and information about chapter members.

Contact the Communications chair regarding:

  • Submission of articals for possible inclusion in the local newsletter.
  • Information on member job promotions, career changes, passing the CPA, and other accomplishments.
  • Advertising opportunites on the local newsletter.

Community Committee

We form partnerships with other organizations and agencies that promote our mission and shared values. We ALPFA train members on tax preparation techniques in order to assist low income Hispanic families prepare their tax returns.

  • Ideas on outreach initiatives for Hispanic communities.

Student Committee

The committee objective focuses on providing support, development and mentoring for student members interested and a career in business and IT. The committee works closely with our seven established student chapters in the Metro area and coordinates a number of student events throughout the year.

Sponsorship Committee

Our operations and programs are only possible through the support of our sponsors. The focus of this committee seeks to identify companies that support our mission and would like access to Hispanic professionals for recruiting, marketing, or branding purposes.

Events Committee

The committee objective focuses on coordinating quality monthly events that enhance personal and professional development. They also allow members the ability to network with fellow ALPFA members and our sponsors.
